SNAPSHOTS OF LIFE: IN PURSUIT OF A LIFE WELL LIVED

This program focuses on relationships- with self, family, and one’s sense of community. Performed in a “wellness theatre” concept, Lauve will share snapshots of life relating to attitudes on body image, self-esteem, and one’s worth as a person. Stories, poems and inspirational messages are woven into this presentation to allow the audience an opportunity to consider their own life and honor their own story.

RESHAPING YOUR BODY, RETHINKING YOUR MIND: A PSYCHO-SOCIAL APPROACH TO WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Weight loss is a constant struggle in our society. How do health professionals create healthy and balanced programs for participants in a world where “instant gratification takes too long?” Reshaping Your Body, Rethinking Your Mind offers a realistic approach to weight management through developing positive body image and self-esteem skills, and learning how to incorporate healthful eating and physical activity practices into daily living. This program is designed to give tips, ideas, inspiration and information to integrate into your personal or professional weight management programs.

HOT FUDGE SUNDAES WITHOUT GUILT: SUCCESS STORIES IN WEIGHT LOSS
Weight loss is a constant struggle in our society. How do individuals and health professionals create healthy and balanced programs in a world where “instant gratification takes too long?” Based on the National Institutes for Health funded weight loss research project Healthy Weight 4 Life, this presentation will share insights and key learning tools gleaned from the women participants, who lost between 15 and 50 pounds. This program is designed to give tips, ideas, inspiration and information to integrate into your personal or professional weight management programs.

OSTEOPOROSIS PREVENTION AND BONE HEALTH: THE BEST PROGRAM
This presentation shares information on the BEST (Bone, Estrogen and Strength Training) Study, the largest women’s study on osteoporosis and exercise funded by the National Institutes of Health. An overview of the project, aims of the study, data findings, and a look at the intervention program will be discussed. This study boasts 80% adherence rate to a three time per week, one year exercise program at community exercise facilities. The BEST women are on their 10th year of exercise, Lauve will share the secrets of their success.
